Hello, readers! Didn’t want you to think we’d forgotten about you! We were just off on Vacation #2 in a three-week span (didn’t quite plan for things to work out that way, but a very important event popped up this past weekend that we couldn’t miss), but now we are home in Pittsburgh and dilligently chipping away at the photolog from the trip.
Where were we this past weekend? Well, in case you weren’t keeping up with my obsessive Tweets about my monster crush on Boyd Tinsley, I’ll fill you in: we had the extreme pleasure of attending the Dave Matthews Band Caravan stop in Atlantic City!! They aren’t doing a full tour this year (which is the reason we’ll be watching Because of Winn Dixie and making homemade cornbread), but it is their twentieth anniversary as a band, and they felt like they couldn’t stay away from us for a full year. So, the DMB Caravan was born: four stops across the country, three days of fantastic music, all with a full DMB set to close out the evening.
We were fortunate enough that I was off work and we could all get a vacation day on the Monday after, and four of us loaded up Bowie the Subaru and headed off to Atlantic City just before dawn on Friday morning!! The shows were fantastic, and I’ll get to that in another entry soon. But for now, I wanted to share with you our newly-named mascot’s latest photo shoot!
After this amazing weekend, and in honor of our very favorite drummer, we have finally arrived at a name for our mascot. May I present, visiting Atlantic City for the first time, Beaufurb the Furby. (This may or may not be a direct reflection of my disappointment in not being able to make a Worgen character in the new World of Warcraft expansion named CarterBeaufworg.)
Where will Beaufurb end up next? And what casino did Michael choose for his statue pose photo? And who did we see play the Dark Side of Oz mashup live?
The answers to these questions and more, coming soon!
