Jelly Of The Month Club: Sturges Orchards Strawberry Jam

Achievement: #84. Jelly of the Month Club

jelly-of-the-month
After an experimental first two months of the year, we moved back toward the traditional for March’s Jelly of the Month Club selection.

March - Jelly of the Month
And going back to traditional jelly flavors meant that one Miss Lucy Red was able to participate again! (She was pretty pumped.)

March - Jelly of the Month
We found March’s jelly at the Pittsburgh Public Market when we were in to pick up our Bacon of the Month. Sturges Orchards is located north of Beaver Falls, but you can get their delicious jellies, jams, & cider every weekend at the Public Market!

And since this was a traditional strawberry jelly, we went back to our standard method of enjoying: English muffins & peanut butter jelly crackers (this time served with breakfast). Delicious all around. This strawberry jam has everything you could want from a jelly: fruity, thick, spreadable, yummy. I managed to almost kick the whole jar by the end of the month.

It also received the Lucy slurp of approval.

color: 5 – just lovely
flavor: 5 – if jam could give you a hug, this is what it would taste like.
jelly-ness: 5 – yes yes yes
jar presentation: 3 – nice little illustration of some strawberries kissing, but not much fuss.
awesomeness: 5 – heck yes. heck yes every night as a snack.

Needless to say, I’ll have to pick up a replacement jar on my next expedition to the Pittsburgh Public Market. We also grabbed a jar of their apple butter, so I’m excited to give that a try as well. Check them out for yourself – you won’t be disappointed!
